Installing Sonus Curve under a concrete topping (adapted from Regupol's install guide):

1. Storage and handling: keep rolls dry and out of direct UV until installation. Leave in original packaging until use, and check quantity/condition against the order before starting - report any shortfall or damage right away.

2. Perimeter isolation strip: confirm walls are clean, dry, and even, and test adhesive compatibility before committing (Regupol recommends their PU350 adhesive). Adhere the isolation strip around the full perimeter so it runs up onto the wall above the pour height; trim it flush once the concrete has cured. Do not fasten it with nails, screws, or other mechanical fasteners.

3. Roll out the Sonus Curve: subfloor must be clean, dry, and flat (3/16" over 10', per ACI 117R). Install with the dimpled (wavy) side facing down. Butt edges tightly with no gaps. If stacking multiple layers, offset the seams between layers so they don't line up, and tape the seams of the top layer to hold everything in place.

4. Vapor barrier: cover both the isolation strip and the Sonus Curve with polyethylene sheeting at least 10-mil thick. Overlap the sheets and tape all seams.

5. Pour the concrete topping: keep reinforcement from tearing or puncturing the poly sheeting (pour a thin blinding layer first if needed). Avoid any rigid connection between the new slab and the subfloor or walls - a rigid bridge defeats the isolation and creates a flanking noise path.

6. Finish flooring: once cured, install per the flooring manufacturer's own instructions. Trim excess perimeter strip flush with the finished floor and seal any exposed isolation material with acoustical sealant or non-hardening caulk.

You'll also need on hand: 10-mil poly sheeting, duct/construction tape, a utility knife and mechanical saw, polyurethane adhesive for the vertical isolation strip, and acoustical sealant or non-hardening caulk.
